Stabilization is mandatory to transform the soft, porous structure into a durable knife handle material. The figure is subtle compared to burled woods, offering a clean, natural look.

Wenge — dramatic dark brown Central African hardwood with striking black streaks running through each set. Coarse open grain is stabilized to fill the pores and deliver a smooth, even finish. The dark color and bold figure make these one of the most distinctive scale materials available.
